Thank you for your answer. I don't fully agree with it but I understand the decision. I actually have two further questions then.
1: This one is very specific to the song. It is “The River” by Good Charlotte, without the feature. I think the only way this version has ever been released was through the video (not on their offical YouTube) on TV which shortly got replaced by the featured version. One Reddit comment suggests that the featured artists are still present, just without the (full?) vocal feature, making this sort of a "demo" version. I think I've just answered myself on how to solve this. lol
I'm not quite sure what cover to pick since this version seemingly does not exist on any official audio medium (I've checked MusicBrainz) but I think it's okay to use the album cover in this case.
Remaining question: Should #ARTIST feature both the guest vocalist and the guest guitarist? I'm asking because the comment says both would be in it, it still has the guitar solo but I don't know the singers well enough to differentiate if you actually hear the guest vocalist, maybe in the background somewhere, if at all, but I'm not sure if that warrants being credited in #ARTIST.
3: Do reuploads not fall into the same category of "prone to being removed for copyright issues"? Probably better than no video at all, this potentially means chasing reupload after reupload in the future, however. Might as well leave a note about the original.
Clarification for 3: It had not “already [been] in place in the meta tags”, I suppose it got added there by a moderator after I posted the reuploaded version. And only then I thought “oh, they probably have some kind of rules for this and don't just remove things they don't like”.
Defending 2: In this case, the fanmade video was uploaded two years prior to the official video (which has now been up for two years itself) and still hasn't been removed so I kind of don't see that argument here. Part of what makes this website still feel somewhat alive for me has always been the community comments that offered alternate experiences for nerdy people who cared. I see no harm in exchanging such (I guess) niche information outside of the TXT file.

It's part of housekeeping here on USDB.
1. Upload it as a second version, adapt #ARTIST/#TITLE as appropriate and link to the correct video.
2. Because fanmade videos have a tendency to disappear rather quickly due to copyright issues, official videos are highly preferred. "Nauseating to look at" is highly subjective and you are free to replace the official video with a fan-made one locally in your collection. If there is a valid reason, see 1.
3. It does not make sense to keep comments with stale resources if a replacement is available and already in place in the meta tags.

Why do comments with alternate videos get deleted? I've seen this happening in three different cases now.
1: alternate version of a song that didn't include a featured artist but worked perfectly the same with a different #GAP (could be useful if people prefer a different version, maybe that can just be a new song though?) (5409)
2: official video was made with AI, alternate video was fanmade (useful if people prefer a video that isn't nauseating to look at) (28919)
3: original youtube video was privated and a reupload on a different site is the new video source (could be useful in case the original comes up again or if someone finds an archived version matching the original video id for better quality) (29923)

google Gehe hier auf die Seite und klicke Links Song hinzufügen an.
Dann öffnet sich ein Fenster , wo durchsuchen steht.
Drauf klicken und zu Deinem Ordner wo die von dir erstellte Textdatei ist.
dann klicke sie einmal an und unten rechts in Deinem Ordner hinzufügen etc. klicken.
Auf der USDB Seite kannst Du nun senden drücken.

Habe gerade ELLA von Ella Stern getappt, lediglich die Tonhöhen habe ich nicht hinbekommen, kenne dazu den Editor zu wenig.. Kann sich jemand meinen Eintrag bei Gelegenheit anschauen und die Tonhöhen entsprechend anpassen? Danke im Voraus für eure Hilfe!

Heyo,
Bin gerade dabei die ersten 3 Songs fertigzustellen. Habe mich dazu entschlossen ein paar Songs aus "Schule der magischen Tiere" zu machen.
Getappt sind sie bereits alle, die Cover. Audio und auch die Videos habe ich. Nur bei den Noten tue ich mir etwas schwer.
Habt ihr Tipps für einen bestimmten Editor, bzw. wie geht er Notentechnisch um wenn es keine MIDIs oder Noten zum Ansehen gibt?
Freue mich über eure Rückmeldungen

Bin fromaris im disocrd
Die Umlaute und Apostrophen etc funktionieren halt bei mir nur solange ich für das Öffnen & Speichern Open Office und nicht den Windows editor benutze und wie beschrieben die Speicheroptionen benutze.
Keine Ahnung warum.
Das ist ärgerlich aber immerhin nicht so kompliziert, wie die letzten zwei Tage, wo ich die Zeichen von ein paar txt downloads von Hand als workaround verändert hatte.
Bei Liedern ohne Sonderzeichen in den Dateinamen oder Verweisen werden sie auch so erkannt, führen dann aber natürlich zu Anzeigefehlern im Liedtext beim Singen.
Wenn jemand weiß wo ich das in W11 richtig Einstellen kann, bitte gerne Bescheid geben.

So etwas hatte ich vermutet,
aber ich finde nicht heraus wo bei mir die Textformatierung falsch läuft.
[edit: habe einen weg für mich gefunden]
Auf meinem alten W7 PC lief das downloaden und abspeichern ohne Probleme.
Benutze jetzt Windows11 mit deutschem Text und lade ganz normal die songs als Text herunter.
Auch als zip habe ich es schon probiert mit dem selbem Ergebnis.
Nur wenn ich für jeden Verweis und Dateinamen das Apostroph mit dem Apostroph links neben der Backspace Taste auf meinem Keyboar ersetze funktionierts.
Aber dann bleibt noch das Problem mit den Umlauten. Also ein schlechter workaround.
Im meinem W11 Editor gibt es keine Formatierungsoptionen beim abspeichern und in den Einstellungen gibt es nur die Option Formatierung an- oder aus zu stellen.
Aktuell steht sie vom Werk aus auf ein.
So funktioniert es nicht.
[Lösung bei mir:
Mit Apache Open Office die txt Datei öffnen,
das ASCII Filteroptionen Fenster popt auf,
"UTF-8" wird anstelle von der Sprache in der ersten Option ausgewählt,
die Datei wird geöffnet und ich kann die Verweise editieren,
beim "speichern" oder "speichern unter" popt die Option auf "aktuelles Format beibehalten"
und diese wird ausgewählt anstelle von ODF.
Und dann wird alles richtig erkannt.]
Vielleicht hilft es jemanden daß ich meinen Prozess so detailliert beschrieben habe.

Umlaute, Apostroph & Sonderzeichen:
Hat noch jemand Problem das Umlaute und Satzzeichen wie Apostroph nicht korrekt angezeigt werden?
Apostrophe in dateinamen verhindern sogar den Import wenn sie nicht erkannt werden.

Ich habe nochmal ne kurze Frage: Meine Database hat aktuell etwa 900 Songs. Wir spielen dann gerne, dass wir die Songs per Zufallsgenerator vorschlagen lassen. Allerdings habe ich das Gefühl, dass einige Songs mehrfach vorgeschlagen werden und ganz viele andere überhaupt nicht. Auch wenn ich ab und an die Sortierreihenfolge ändere, werden mir gefühlt immer die gleichen Songs vorgeschlagen. Hat da vielleicht jemand noch eine Idee, wie man das lösen könnte, dass möglichst alle Songs mal vorgeschlagen werden?
