Sure, good point. I usually give 1 star if the most basic requirement for a good song is largely or extensively missing: syllabification. Looking at the first few sentences, I see
better (bet|ter)
tryin' (try|in’, if sung as one syllable: try’n)
never (ne|ver)
tryna (try|na)
isn't (i|sn’t)
beating (bea|ting)
naughty (naugh|ty)
avoiding (a|voi|ding)
which are all (at least) two syllables (potentially more if there are repeated vowels/diphtongs). All words should be split into proper (spoken!) syllables (which is often different from hyphenation, which is how a word is split when it is written, e.g. at the end of a line). I'd consider "le|vel" more and "lev|el" less correct, but I would not take that into account when rating.
If syllabification is missing, it doesn't make much sense to judge timing and pitches, because timing and pitches cannot be judged for the missing syllables - that's the reason I give 1 star. Hopefully this doesn't come across as too harsh, it's just an indicator that there's some basic work to do, which involves all the subsequent steps of song creation (1. add missing syllable splits, 2. adjust timing for newly introduced syllables, 3. set pitches for those syllables).
Would be nice if people that give low score could at least leave a comment on what they feel is wrong. its not really productive to give 1p then not saying anything why you gave it 1p. If you feel you have the time to give bad point. At least leave a comment what you feels is wrong so I can fix it...
