Love this song - thanks for doing it. Count me in for someone who ALWAYS prefers the video version (I don"t put any songs in my game unless I can find a video). Also, since it was debated here count me among those who prefer the word to be broken up with a ~ where it is sung. I don"t mind seeing something like be~~~~~come if that is how it is sung. Thanks!
bohning: I would also like to play the videos of in the background. But for me this would be too much data. I have now about 1100 Songs for Ultrastar on my PC. If each song would have a video then this would be some Terraytes of Data (Way too much for my disk space ).
In some cases I can agree with you to the syllables topic. Maybe I will try to make the future songs in the style that you said.
I understand your reasoning. However, for me, half the fun is having the video of the songs play in the background, that"s why I usually prefer video versions (and my guess is that most people wouldn"t even notice the differences).
Regarding the splitting of syllables, I also understand your reasoning and believe it is a matter of taste. While I agree that when we read words, we do not read them character by character, however I have found that especially for people that do not know a song and rely on the lyrics, it is easier for them to have the ~ after the vowels that are repeated, especially when there are a lot of them (rea~~~~~~~~~~~~~~lly).
IMHO it even becomes ambiguous and/or inconsistent for multiple syllable words: let’s say you have the word "become" and the "e" is repeated multiple times. Putting the "~" at the repeated vowel would mean "be~~~~~~~come" while putting them after the word would mean "become~~~~~~~~", but then it is unclear if the "e" or the "o" has to be repeated. Only shifting the "~" in between the word (after the "e") would then be inconsistent, I would say.
In any case, after all it is a matter of taste, I guess
bohning I think you are right. But the reason why I don’t adapt it to the video version is, that often the video version is different to the normal "radio version". And most of the people hear that songs on the radio (me too). So people that know the radio version and don’t know the video version may be confused if they sing karaoke to a version of the song that they never listened to before. I hope you understand what I mean.
To the splitting syllables topic: I’m splitting syllables like back~~ instead of ba~~ck because I found it look weird cause humans read words as small "pictures" and not character by character. And if a word looks like ba~~~ck instead of back~~~ i think it is much easier to read the word (that’s only my opinion)
